Name: Coconut Smith - I was named after the American Girl pooch! (even though that Coconut is a Westie!)

Breed: Bichon Frise

My story: I'm originally from Colorado, but now I live in New York. I spent the first 3 months of my life living with my big family at Fuzzy Pups. In April of 2005 I flew all the way to New York by myself! I love my new home and everyone I've met since I came here. It's especially lots of fun to play with my little cousin Reef. I love playing with my cousin Reef and my new sister Felicity!

A Typical Day: Since mom and dad both work full time, I get to play with my best friends during the week! I go to daycare for four days, and I have one day to stay home and rest. My friends and I get lots of exercise, fresh air, and attention! After daycare it's great to veg out and relax at home.

Important Info: Even though I'm super cute and cuddly, it's a lot of work to take care of a puppy! I have to go outside every 1 to 2 hours to go potty, have fresh food and water three times a day, go to the vet for shots & check-ups, plus get plenty of exercise and much much more! It's so important to do lots of research before you decide to adopt a puppy. Make sure that the breed you choose is right for your family. Only 1 in 10 dogs ever find a permanent home. Remember: A puppy is for life!
